Moments as Jewels!

The night sky is a Maxfield  Parrish blue
The moon spills light on the stony path,

Leaves cascading  like flakes of snow,
caught in blades of grass,
They dance for me like stars in infinite space,
the trees aware that autumn will soon be gone,
Birds settle in the remaining leaves,
hoping to survive the coming frost.

  9. This post made me think: Words as jewels!!

Your 55s are so very captivating. this one brought out change that is to come. And change can't be expressed more artistically than this. Can you imagine, that it is sweltering here? We are waiting for respite. It is way too hot at this time of the year. Sigh.

    Joy always,
    Susan

  23. I could not stop staring at the tree trunk image. Really interesting!

When I was little, one of the 1st poems I ever wrote was called "The Path I'd Like to Take". It was about the lighted path the moon makes across water at night. Parts of this reminded me of it :)

  26. Joanny Hi! Love your pictures, especially those leaves caught in the grass like flakes of snow. I copied that image and may 'borrow' it one day.

AND I love your love of nature's ever-changing looks, although inside herself she stays the same (I believe!).

About those birds: why do they (and Claudia!) not fly south to Naples Florida? --big grin!

    PEACE!
