Misty Water Colored Sky

Multnomah Falls is the second-tallest year-round waterfall in the nation. The water of the Falls drops 620 feet from its origin on Larch Mountain.

Multnomah Falls offers one of the best places in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area to study geology exposed by floods. Five flows of Yakima basalt are visible in the fall's cliff face.

Once at the top of the falls, hikers can continue onward for six miles to the top of Larch Mountain or take the six mile Wahkeena Loop trail.
At the base of the falls lays historic Multnomah Falls Lodge. Built in 1925 the lodge provides fine northwest cuisine with a panoramic view.

Stranger then you dreamt it . . .Magpie Tales #11

The grand chandelier fell, killing one
now lurking in the shadows secret and strange
A pitiful  figure in the shadows, whose face hides behind a mask
The one called the Angel of Music-
Will you still play music dear Angel, when the rest of us are dead?

When I am fast asleep in my bed
the Angel of Music sings songs in my head --
tenderly  he whispers his deeds as well as his love for me,
and I am secretly possessed by his voice in my head
singing softly and calling me by my name

Dare I dream again? for I find
The Phantom of the Opera is there, inside my head...
Angel! I hear you --   come to me, come to me now -
for the night is long and my soul is weak.

Angel sing your song so sweet the one that revives my heart,
from the harshness of the daytime light..
Sing  your song and  stay by my side,
As I close my eyes and give way to my darkest dreams
and abandon my defenses
letting my spirit soar to a world I knew not before

Thus the Angel of Music sings out to me in my dreams
and to the gentle and forgiving stars,
"Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation!
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in
To the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night...
You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night..."

Hide from me no longer, show me who you are
strange and secret Angel of  the night
Then sweet child you shall know me,
See the secret life I hide
"Look at your face in the mirror, I am there inside"
Angel of Music,I have been  mislead.
I blindly followed the thoughts you planted in my head.
Angel then it was true you were secretly lurking in the shadows -
it was no phantom ghost but you
Spying on  Raoul and I in a lovers embrace.
with your Red Cape flailing in the wind and
the tall Silver Tipped Cane glistening in the candle light,
Whilst, I thought it was a dream of sparkling starlight send
by the Angel of Music singing in the night..

Stranger then your dreams  you devil woman -
Damn you - Damn you! look what you have done.
Thus revealed a  frightening man-- the monster that I really am .
Do not shield your eyes  for this is your fate for now you have lost your freedom
Have pity, for you will learn to love the man behind this mask as you have done before in your head.

The poor despised creature was tracked down by her lover--
beaten with his own Silver Tipped Cane to death.

A Day Dream

Waking from the dream
Shaking off the mist
It was a place of wonder
That sweetly inspired
 Lifted me higher
 Where the wind blows laughter
And there were no worries of the day

Steps In Time

Tap Tap Tap Tapping
Dancing feet on the city street
This is how we dance
In pools of light on the corners of the street.

Shim Sham Shimmy Shine
tap tap Tap Tapping
shake shake your shoulders
tap Tap tap Tapping
a riot of dancers
thieving steps and style

Shim Sham Shimmy Shine
do the back beat rhythm

In Anacrusis Shim Sham Shimmy Shine.
Shim Sham, Push that beat.
Tap Tap do a half beat.

Come all you brothers and sisters
watch Mr. Bo jangle Shim Sham Shimmy Shine,
watch Michael do the back beat in Anacrusis time.
Oh don't forget those fiddles strumming up the beat,
for our Irish brothers and sisters
Tall and Straight,
T'is is how we learn dancing to the beat.

Fiery Flamenco over the dance beat
exuding  passion and fire for each
makes fire dance  tap tap tapping to the
heavy pounding Dance-club style beat
heavy pounding Dance-club style beat.

Together - Magpie # 9

one long version and one short version or version of a Haiku? for my Son

How do you explain
having never seen her face
and yet I know the shape of her lips,
the color shine so bright
even on a cloudy day
in the air lingers sweetly her perfume,

As I sit by the edge of the forest
listening to the wind make music,
water ripples slowly by
my vision becomes hazy
dreamy images float in the mist

As I step through to a timeless place
while all doubts gave way to possibilities
where we once walked together in this fairy tale kingdom
image from La Belle Dame Sans Merci.Based upon a poem by John Keats
Where Kings and Queens Rule
there was a knight for every fair maiden
and ne'er a dragon was slain
I find the simplest answers awakened
to the force of nature pulsing through me,
feeling oneness
with milady's shining lips and sweet perfume
Fin

Chocolate covered lips
dripping chins with fudge surprise
laughing and dancing with no music in a water colored sky

Bird Speak - God's promise of spring

In winter you will hear no beautiful mating calls,
or chirps of joy over the rising of the morning sun,
you who are famous with God who clothed you,
in drab shades of brown and gray,
and gave you a bold spirit,
survivor of the frost of winter,
come spring a great singer,
your song, rising in a musical burst,
then falling at the end.
Cruising the hillside in silent splendor,
tiny wings spread dark against the sun
flitter and fluttering to and fro
over the branches, brambles and bushes
to quick to capture
perched outside my window
doing a  gentle dance
cocking his tiny head this way and that
soft brown eyes stare back at me
the little brown bird puffs out its chest
and begins to sing softly
telling  me of days to come
cheery greeting the warm sun,
with love and great joy, for
a ground green with grasses,
a sky as blue as the sea,
for flowers, mountains, trees and streams,
giant bumblebees, snakes and lizards, and for creepy crawly things
and most of all for God's promise of spring.
